Date:7/25/2017 10:45:00 AM   |   Code : 110

Employment issues are at the top of policy concerns in Iran.  Like elsewhere in the Middle East and North Africa, for more than a decade Iran’s youth have suffered from high rate of unemployment and long periods of waiting before getting their first job following graduation.

The focus of the Workshop is on policy-relevant research on labor markets, especially issues related to youth employment and the aim is to bring together the best research done on labor markets, to compare notes on the characteristics of employment issues that different countries face, and how they have gone about tackling them.

The workshop will run for 2 days and consist of 8 panels run consecutively with 2-3 presentations in each.  The format will be presentation of a small number of papers in serial "not parallel" sessions followed by discussion of each paper.   The small group format will permit more interaction between presenters, discussants and the audience.  Participation will be by invitation rather than open call for papers.
